CA publiceert Channel Survey 2009, een Engelstalig onderzoel onder resellers in EMEA.

De resultaten zijn als volgt:

All EMEA

Outlook for economy and IT budgets in 2009
– 79% of partners expect the economic outlook to deteriorate throughout 2009. Encouragingly though, a significant 56% think it will only get a little worse.
– 78% of partners expect IT budgets to decrease in 2009. Encouragingly, 48% expect budgets to be only slightly reduced.

Top 3 areas of expected spending
– Partners expected virtualisation management to have the largest increase in spending in 2009 (with 58% expecting an increase compared to 2008), followed by Internet security (37%) and recovery management (32%).

Top 3 areas for expected profit
– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were virtualisation management (with 54% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), Internet security (53%) and recovery management (45%).

Top 3 important factors in vendor relationship
– The top factors of importance when investing in a vendor relationship were lead generation (56% of partners), financial incentives (51%) and stability (51%).

 

Austria

– 81% of partners expect the economic outlook to deteriorate throughout 2009. Encouragingly though, a significant 61% think it will only get a little worse.
– 76% of partners expect IT budgets to decrease in 2009. Encouragingly, 52% expect budgets to be only slightly reduced.

– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were Internet security (with 65% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), followed by virtualisation management (53%) and recovery management (49%).

Top 3 important factors in vendor relationship
– The top factors of importance when investing in a vendor relationship were stability (78% of partners), strong product roadmap (57%) and financial incentives (57%).

France

– 66% of partners expect IT budgets to decrease in 2009. Encouragingly however, 38% expect budgets to be only slightly reduced.

– Partners expected virtualisation management to have the largest increase in spending in 2009 (with 65% expecting an increase compared to 2008), followed by recovery management (53%) and Internet security (44%).

Top 3 areas for expected profit
– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were virtualisation management (with 61% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), recovery management (58%) and Internet security (51%).

Top 3 important factors in vendor relationship
– The top factors of importance when investing in a vendor relationship were financial incentives (70% of partners), pre-sales support (57%) and lead generation (51%).

– Partners expected virtualisation management to have the largest increase in spending in 2009 (with 46% expecting an increase compared to 2008), followed by Internet security (33%), Business Service Management and data center automation (33%).

– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were recovery management (with 53% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), virtualisation management (50%) and Internet security (48%).

Top 4 important factors in vendor relationship
– The top factors of importance when investing in a vendor relationship were financial incentives (58% of partners), pre-sales support (57%), stability (43%) and strong product roadmap (43%).

 

North Europe

– 71% of partners expect the economic outlook to deteriorate throughout 2009. Encouragingly though, a significant 52% think it will only get a little worse.
– 81% of partners expect IT budgets to decrease in 2009. Encouragingly, 52% expect budgets to be only slightly reduced.

Top 3 areas of expected spending
– Partners expected virtualisation management to have the largest increase in spending in 2009 (with 64% expecting an increase compared to 2008), followed by cloud computing (SaaS) (45%) and Green IT (37%).

Top 3 areas for expected profit
– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were virtualisation management (59% of partners), Internet security (42%) and recovery management (38%).

Top 4 important factors in vendor relationship
– The top factors of importance when investing in a vendor relationship were strong product roadmap (63% of partners), pre-sales support (57%), lead generation (52%) and stability (52%).

Portugal

Outlook for economy and IT budgets in 2009
– 82% of partners expect the economic outlook to deteriorate throughout 2009. Encouragingly though, a significant 58% think it will only get a little worse.
– 86% of partners expect IT budgets to decrease in 2009. Encouragingly, 36% expect budgets to be only slightly reduced.

Top 4 areas of expected spending
– 92% of partners thought that spending in Internet security would either increase in 2009 or at least remain the same as in 2008. This was followed by virtualisation management (80%), recovery management (80%) and business service management (80%).

Top 3 areas for expected profit
– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were business service management (with 46% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), virtualisation management (41%) and Internet security (41%).

Top 3 important factors in vendor relationship
– The top factors of importance when investing in a vendor relationship were lead generation (69% of partners), strong product roadmap (63%) and pre-sales support (47%).

Spain

– 86% of partners expect IT budgets to decrease in 2009. Encouragingly, 39% expect budgets to be only slightly reduced.

– Partners expected virtualisation management to have the largest increase in spending in 2009 (with 37% expecting an increase compared to 2008), followed by Internet security (23%), Business Service Management (21%) and recovery management (20%).

– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were virtualisation management (with 56% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), recovery management (49%) and Internet security (49%).

UK & Ireland

– Partners expected virtualisation management to have the largest increase in spending in 2009 (with 51% expecting an increase compared to 2008), followed by cloud computing (SaaS) (44%) and Business Service Management (25%).

Top 3 areas for expected profit
– The areas of technology expected to be most profitable were Internet security (with 52% of partners expecting it to be one of the most profitable areas), virtualisation management (44%) and recovery management (40%).
