This is the role
As our Global Head of IT, you will work in a hybrid model (requiring a minimum of 2 days per week at our Schiedam facility) with a global scope spanning the Netherlands, Sweden, and China. Reporting directly to the CFO (with a dotted line to the Finance Director), this is a strategic key addition to our leadership team. You will set global direction, drive process standardization, and align IT capabilities across all sites.

• The Challenge: Establish a 3-to-5-year global IT strategy that drives business growth and digital process efficiency across our enterprise functions, while securing robust network infrastructure and cybersecurity for our manufacturing sites (leaving local shopfloor/OT automation under local plant ownership). You will streamline core platforms (including Monitor ERP as our central business platform), guide data governance, and safely harness technological developments such as AI. Rather than managing through direct line authority, your mission is to bring change through clear targets, structured processes, and strong collaboration across regional teams.
• The Daily Flow: You operate as a strategic direction-setter and a trusted go-to resource for critical infrastructure stability and business continuity. Globally, you align with experienced IT colleagues in Sweden and China, as well as our primary IT provider, GDM—building on their strong historical bonds while ensuring high service quality, robust systems, and policy compliance (including NIS2 and GDPR). Locally in Schiedam, you will embrace the operational environment (approx. 25% hands-on involvement initially) to help design and transition our future Dutch IT operating model.
• The Freedom: Backed by executive leadership, you hold the autonomy to shape our global IT landscape and process rhythm. You will navigate cultural nuances across our international matrix organization, turning top-down ambition into realistic, well-defined deadlines that empower our business.

• You stay ahead of tech trends (such as AI adoption and process automation) and know how to implement robust systems and security policies (e.g., NIS2, GDPR) in an industrial environmentYou bring progressive IT leadership experience within international B2B industrial, process technology, or specialty chemical environments.
• Proven experience with multi-site international structures, Cloud/ERP architectures (Monitor ERP is a plus), and managing external MSP relationships is essential.
• You are fluent in English (corporate standard). Fluency in Dutch and/or Swedish is a strong advantage. Flexibility for limited international travel (Sweden and China) is required, with open-mindedness to scale as strategic projects evolve.

• A gross annual salary of € 120.000 - € 130.000 on a full-time workweek including 8% holiday allowance. This translates to € 9.259,- - € 10.033,- a month, excluding 8% holiday allowance.
